Apogee has an exciting new opportunity for an Acquisition Specialist located at MacDill AFB, FL in support of Special Operations Forces Acquisition, Technology and Logistics’ (SOF AT&L) Program Executive Office for SOF Digital Applications SDA. PEO-SDA’s vision is to provide USSOCOM a “one-stop shop” for SOF software-intensive digital applications. SDA’s sole purpose is to ensure SOF Warfighters receive point-of-need knowledge innovation and the software support to remain the premier information dominance force anywhere, anytime.
This is a full-time position located at MacDill Air Force Base (AFB), FL.
• Serve as the primary coordinator of technical and programmatic information for the Program Executive Office (PEO), facilitating seamless information flow across the organization and with external partners.
• Interact regularly with subordinate Program Management Offices (PMOs) to assess the technical status of their programs, understand emerging technical efforts, and identify technical challenges or bottlenecks.
• Consolidate technical and programmatic data from across the PMOs to provide holistic, comprehensive, and actionable status updates and briefings to PEO leadership.
• Analyze cross-program data to identify technical trends, areas of overlapping or common interest, and strategic technical opportunities that can be exploited to benefit the entire PEO.
• Serve as the PEO's primary representative to the SOF AT&L Science and Technology (S&T) Directorate; in this role, coordinate and facilitate PEO-wide participation in annual data calls for project consideration for S&T and OUSW/R&E funding.
• Serve as the PEO’s primary representative to the SOF AT&L International Operations Branch; in this role, coordinate and facilitate PEO-wide participation in Capability Development Working Group activities, as required.
• Act as a technical liaison and represent PEO equities during engagements with external offices, including SOF AT&L, HQ USSOCOM, Military Services, and external DoW offices.
• Capture emerging concepts, technologies, and strategic guidance from external offices and effectively disseminate this information back to the subordinate PMOs.
• Document, track, and monitor comprehensive portfolio-level technical, cost, and schedule risks and opportunities across all subordinate PMOs, ensuring a consolidated, visible risk posture is maintained for PEO leadership.
• Coordinate technology roadmaps, release cadences, and technical feedback cycles across the PEO to ensure alignment between various program development efforts.
• Assist in monitoring and tracking technical requirements across subordinate PMOs to ensure alignment with broader PEO objectives, while leaving primary requirements definition to the individual program offices.
• Apply advanced tools to document, synthesize, and analyze the results of critical, complex activities across the portfolio.
• Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, to synthesize complex technical data into clear, actionable intelligence for senior leadership and diverse teams.
• Strong strategic thinking skills with the ability to identify cross-program trends, overlapping interests, and holistic technical opportunities.
• Thorough understanding of the latest security principles, techniques, and protocols for DevSecOps, User Experience, Cybersecurity, and the Risk Management Framework.
• Familiarity with Artificial Intelligence (AI) concepts and how they can be leveraged across defense acquisition programs.
• Working knowledge of the Defense Acquisition System as directed by DoD Instruction 5000.01, “The Defense Acquisition System.”
• Working knowledge of the Defense Acquisition System as directed by DoD Instruction 5000.02, “Operation of the Adaptive Acquisition Framework.”
• Working knowledge of the Software Acquisition Pathway as directed by DoD Instruction 5000.87, “Operation of the Software Acquisition Pathway.”
• Working knowledge of the Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) roles and responsibilities for both Commercial and DoD applications.
• Ability to interpret, select, and apply a variety of engineering principles and guidelines to evaluate broad PEO-level technical requirements.
• Maintain a broad understanding of assigned acquisition programs and the ability to oversee systems engineering acquisition activities (including TEMP, SEP, SAMP development, PDR, CDR, and Software Acquisition Pathway milestones such as Minimum Viable Product (MVP) and Minimum Viable Capability Release (MVCR).
• Strategic-level technical knowledge and ability in Information Technology capabilities, procurement, and production.
• Knowledge of methods and techniques for fact-finding, analysis, and resolution of complex contracting and programmatic problems.
• Familiarity with DoW/Federal cloud computing architectures (e.g., IL4/IL5/IL6 environments) and cloud-native software deployment strategies.
• Strong working knowledge of the MS Office Suite software.
Minimum Experience:
Citizenship: Must be a US citizen
Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Top Secret clearance with SCI Eligibility
Certifications: DAWIA Practitioner Equivalency IAW the PWS (DAWIA level II equivalent) in Program Management
Education: Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or Software Engineering

8 years’ experience in Program Management of DoW Acquisition Systems at the Acquisition Category (ACAT) III-level or higher.
7+ years’ experience in DoW in any of the following areas (Note: Experience may be concurrent):
