Overview

Apogee is actively seeking an Acquisition Program Manager to provide support to the NC3 Contract and specifically the NCS division.

 

The AFNWC/NC3 Integration Directorate is headquartered at Hanscom Air Force Base, MA, with an operating location at Kirtland AFB, NM. The NC3 Directorate’s mission is to provide support to the Program Executive Office (PEO), the Deputy Director, Deputy AFPEO NC3 and staff for acquisition and administrative control of all NC divisions, branches, and programs. It consists of an Executive Section, Engineering (EN), Financial Management (FM), Operations Management (OM), Information Protection (IP), Contracts (PK), Cyber, Logistics (LG), the Program Execution Group (PEG) and Intelligence (IN).

 

The Strategic Communications Division (NCS) develops nuclear survivable terminals capable of communicating with the Milstar and Advanced Extremely High Frequency (AEHF) satellite constellations and future satellite constellations using both the Extremely High Frequency (EHF) and AEHF waveforms.

 

This is a full-time role at Hanscom AFB, located in Bedford, MA.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of systems acquisition and program management principles, policies, and practices (DoDI 5000.02, AFI 63-101/20-101) and of DoD/USAF roles and relationships.
  • Apply qualitative and quantitative techniques to gather, analyze, and measure the effectiveness, efficiency, and productivity of acquisition, sustainment, or modification programs.
  • Assess programs against schedule and cost baselines; recommend viable solutions and alternative courses of action.
  • Communicate effectively orally and in writing; prepare high-quality acquisition and program documentation (briefings, documents, plans).
  • Plan, research, analyze, and assess system acquisition across development, production, deployment, and sustainment; formulate plans and recommend strategies to meet cost, schedule, and performance objectives.
  • Develop and support acquisition and sustainment reports, including statutory and regulatory reports (e.g., DAES, MAR).
  • Support program management reviews, senior-level meetings/reviews, and IMP/IMS reviews.
  • Prepare briefings and schedules summarizing program status and acquisition tasks for senior management.
  • Understand different funding types, budgets, and the Central Asset Management (CAM) process.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience:

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Clearance: Must have and be able to maintain a Secret level clearance 

Education: Bachelor's degree in Business or related field 

Years of Experience: 12 years of experience with DoD acquisition programs

  • Comprehensive knowledge of principles, policies, and practices of systems acquisition and program management, as defined in DoDI 5000.02 Operation of the Adaptive Acquisition Framework, AFI 63-101/20-101, as well as knowledge of roles and relationships within the DoD and the Air Force
  • Demonstrated ability to plan, research, analyze, and assess system acquisition in terms of development, production, deployment, and sustainment of weapons systems and associated equipment as well as formulate plans and recommend effective strategies in meeting cost, schedule, and performance objectives
  • Understands the different funding types, budgets, and the Central Asset Management (CAM) process
  • Strong working Knowledge of Microsoft (MS) Office Suite software and project management/scheduling applications such as MS Project 

Preferred Experience:

Certifications: DAWIA Advanced (formerly Level III) Equivalency in Program Management or Engineering & Technical Management

Education: Master's degree in Business or related field 

Years of Experience: 10 years of experience with DoD acquisition programs

 

Additional Information:

Location: Hanscom AFB, located in Bedford, MA

Hybrid: This position offers telework approx. 2 days a week - subject to change per the customer's discretion

Travel: CONUS travel up to 10% may be required

Pay Range

USD $145,000.00 - USD $155,000.00 /Yr.
